This report about the Bread Of Life International Film Association
(BOLIFA) contains a brief overview of the activities that were done during the
past year, the activities that are planned for the current year, and the
financial situation of the group.
A successful beginning
BOLIFA is a newly-founded
group of Christian filmmakers and born-again film enthusiasts from every
continent who joined forces to consolidate an international film society to facilitate
the promotion of faith-based movies, the dissemination of Christ-centered
cinemas and the global sharing of films produced to spread the Gospel message
of hope around the world.
The past year, with the
sponsorship of the International
Christian Visual Media (ICVM) and countless of others ministries and pious
supporters, the club network was able to reach souls living in 64 countries,
where 1,844 different Christian films were screened on 3,980 different homes,
schools and Churches in Europe, America, Latin America, Asia, Africa and
Australasia. The movies in question included:
- · 1,237 Studio films
- · 1,269 Independent films
- · 1,189 biographical movies
- · 1,149 documentaries
For a small fee, these
movies were visualized online and were made available electronically in the
number of countries mentioned above.
Plans for the future
This year, BOLIFA’s plan
is to play an active role at a number of different conferences and
intercontinental meetings, particularly at the International Christian Film Festival (ICFF), the Festival of Good News at Czech Republic
and the Chennai Christian Short Film
Festival in India.
Regardless of the world’s
disapproval, BOLIFA’s intention for the future is to still be preachy and reach
more than 80 countries, double the number of films available, and offer movies
captioned for at least another 30 languages.
Get involved
BOLIFA has been welcomed warmly
by hundreds of ministries and thousands of brethren. The idea is also to offer
right-minded films at a very low cost, so as to reach the greatest number of
people.
However, the world-wide distribution
of films becomes a challenging task when it comes to governmental approvals,
legal treatments, copyright agreements, royalties, permissions, limitations, home
deliveries and shipping costs in general. Unavoidably, all this earthly task means
financial investment which might meet up the expectations. Only the previous
year, $869,070 dollars were invested, and $879,596 dollars were received.
It is clear that the
sustaining of BOLIFA would be unmanageable without the donations and offerings
of Christian supporters and sponsors, whom we invite to get involved. There is also
an open invitation to translators who would like to do volunteering work and to
new promoters to help take BOLIFA’s project to more cities around the world.
